Styled by Kirsty, my personal projects from over the years.
Project Notes
Working + running my business on my own meant I had to be so thoughtful about my brand + how customers will see my shop + style.
Over the 5 years of having the home byKirsty shop + coachhouse, I am not sure how many times I had a shop reshuffle but I would say it’s a crazy amount! Visual merchandising + window displays are huge for a retail business, you need get people to slow down + engage with you. It is a good job that my favourite thing is a good shuffle around!
A large amount of my marketing was via Social Media, where I have grown an amazing number of followers, many of whom are now close friends. I create content in response to a customer and client’s needs and wants. As such, a lot of the content for HBK was styled in my own home. Customers kept saying “Oh your house must be stunning, I’d love to see it”. I realised I had the perfect canvas to work with, having lovingly curated and renovated my cottage over the past decade. I knew these were fantastic products and wanted to share them in my setting, so that it would help customers picture them in their own homes.
When I needed a brand refresh + wanted to showcase all the products that I stocked… using the shops current colour themes I chose a number of base colours + cherry-picked areas to highlight- children’s, stationery, homeware, jewellery etc. These flat lay images were worth so much to me I used them for the website, mail outs, SM, shop printed stationery- gift vouchers, postcards, the list in endless for their uses. It’s such a good way of selling + marketing products, when you see them in a real home.
Here’s what I have worked on over the years:
Visual merchandising from National brands to independent high streets
Social Media content, posts, stories + creating an engaged community

Renovated + styling for rental of property- increased market value by 45%
